About Us
Niposs
We are a Society of all pediatric ophthalmologists in Nigeria committed to ensuring the overall eye health of the Nigerian.
The objectives of NIPOSS are:
- To promote and build up a high standard of practice of Pediatric Ophthalmology in Nigeria
- To promote the provision of medical, surgical, optical and rehabilitative eye care for children and adults with strabismus
- Educate members and encourage the training of residents and Ophthalmologists who are primarily concerned with eye care of children in Nigeria in accredited centers in Nigeria. NIPOSS will initiate and sponsor post-graduate meetings and seminars and propagate educational materials related to the training of Pediatric Ophthalmologists
- To promote and encourage individual and cooperative clinical research in Pediatric Ophthalmology
- To support research and education in the clinical care of adults with strabismus
- To promote the care of the blind, the visually impaired, and those at risk of visual impairment among those who are aged less than 18 years by designing and applying solutions to the causes of blindness and visual impairment in addition to rehabilitation of the irreversibly blind child
- To establish linkages and partnership with other bodies that will advance the quality of children’s eye care.
